Intelligent Autonomous Robots for Hazardous Decomissioning Tasks
Introduction
We cordially invite you to join our Workshop on Intelligent Autonomous Robots for Hazardous Decommissioning Tasks, to be held in person on June 13th , 2022 with the 17th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS-17).
This full-day workshop will bring together researchers and stakeholders from different fields, all dealing with the challenges of decommissioning and/or operation of mobile robots in hazardous environments. They will share their research work, experience and perspectives, discuss challenges and chances. During the workshop, the participants will intensively exchange approaches, results and experiences from the German ROBDEKON - National Competence Centre for Decommissioning Robots. The approaches and technologies developed for the decommissioning applications addressed in this workshop are relevant to many other fields and are not limited to decommissioning, dismantling or nuclear environments. Important topics are:
Design and control of heavy autonomous robots, like autonomous excavators
3D environment mapping and path planning in hazardous environments
Manipulation and grasp planning, as well as object detection and localization
Networking, knowledge transfer and open discussions are the focus of the workshop. Intensive and moderated Q&A slots as well as poster sessions are planned throw-out the whole day. The workshop is aimed at participants from the fields of mobile robots, long-term autonomous systems, humanoid robots, outdoor and field robots as well as augmented robotics. Moreover, the invited speakers with their scientific background and the open format with a lot of time for exchange and networking will bring together senior and junior experts and help create an inspiring workshop environment for all participants.
